They are in need of some insightful entries to fill up the cookbook, and have solicited Adobe User Groups for help.

Now, the good stuff ... if you make a post to the cookbook between now and January 31, 2009, you could be eligible to win a copy of Flex Builder 3, and (gasp) perhaps even Creative Suite 4. Here are the details:

• Any group that can get 5 or more cookbook posts contributed by their membership is eligible to raffle off a copy of FlexBuilder 3 Professional among the people who contributed the posts.
  
  
• Any group that drives 10 or more posts during the submission period will also get a copy of CS4 to raffle among the contributing members. It can be any version outside the Master Collection.
  
  
• Every post counts as a chance to win. So if RMAUG Member A makes 4 posts and RMAUG Member B makes 2 posts, RMAUG would qualify for the raffle copy since we hit the 5 post requirement. Then Member A would get 4 entries in the draw and Member B would get 2. The more posts you contribute, the better chance you should have to win.

360|MAX is the place to be to participate in the Flex community at Adobe's MAX conference. Design in Mind: provide a framework meant for continuous collaboration between designer and developer.

Developer Productivity: improve compiler performance and add productivity enhancements to language features like data binding

Framework Evolution: take advantage of new Flash Player capabilities and add features required by common use-cases

Improvements include :

• enhanced states syntax
  
• revamped component architecture
  
• FXG : Adobe's new graphics interchange format. "FXG is a defined subset of MXML...Most skin classes in the Gumbo framework are MXML documents which primarily use FXG tags to describe the visual appearance of Gumbo components."

Our beginning/intermediate topic this month is 3D is Flash using Swift3D and Papervision. Jim Foley of Purple Crayons Interactive (formerly of Electric Rain) will discuss the basics of Swift 3D and Papervision 3D export. He will also be discussing the installation process of the Papervision 3D class library and how to implement 3D scenes within your Flash projects from scratch.

This month's advanced topic is presented by David Hassoun, founder of RealEyes Media. His session will cover the basics of Runtime Shared Libraries - what they are, when to use them, and how to use them - as well as more advanced techniques and concerns such as application context, security and advanced RSL management and integration. The focus on integrating RSLs will be more for custom solutions that are both Flash and Flex capable instead of the default compile time driven Flex route that more people may be familiar with, though that will also be explored briefly.
